I am passionate about the quality of food. The passion started 15 years ago when I realised that my family behaved differently when exposed to different foods.
The most behavioural variables came into effect when the family were exposed to commercial and processed food. I tried, although very difficult in the South African environment, to stay away from colourants, preservatives, flavour enhancers (MSG, etc.) and other chemical additions, to use natural foods in their original forms.
From Italian decent, I had to find a balanced, nutritious and awesome way of cooking and have come to believe in one important aspect about food: "Keep it Natural" This posed a new set of obstacles, where to find home grown food without pesticides, preservatives and all things bad, and on a continuous basis. I am issuing a challenge to everyone to come and "taste the difference".
I subsequently sourced the food from various reputable suppliers and Down to Earth was born.
